Signing of a memorandum of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Council of the Nation and of the French Senate

Signature d’un protocole de coopération interparlementaire entre le Conseil de la nation et le Sénat françaisThe Council of the Nation and the French Senate, Tuesday here signed a parliamentary cooperation protocol between the two institutions.
The President of the Council of the Nation Abdelkader Bensalah and that of the French Senate, Gérard Larcher, proceeded to the signing of this agreement.

This Memorandum of Cooperation, the first signed between the two institutions, "will be a real interparliamentary forum that will result in political exchanges," said on this occasion, Mr. Larcher.

For his part, the chairman of the Council of the Nation wished to express his satisfaction with the signing of the document, noting that the signing of this protocol is to accompany the agreements signed between the two governments, to even further strengthen the Algerian-French cooperation .

He noted that the signing of this new agreement follows those signed between the two governments and between the National People's Congress (NPC) and the French National Assembly.

Mr Bensalah expressed also the availability of the institution he presides over "develop this dynamic of rapprochement and cooperation between the two countries and their institutions."

The French Senate President arrived Tuesday in Algiers for a four-day visit to Algeria at the invitation of Mr Bensalah.

During his stay, Mr. Larcher will meet with leaders of Parliament and members of the government.
