The
scandal Sonatrach Saipem extends to other multinationals operating in Algeria.
The
giant Italian engineering, construction and public works, Todini is about to
finally leave Algeria.The
Italian company, which has in its portfolio of major projects in Algeria, is "to
pack" resource officer taking the Maghreb Confidential, a confidential letter
devoted to the political and economic news of the Maghreb. An
audit, such as the Arabic name Aoudj, also appointed to liquidate the company.
The
source did not explain the reasons for this "leak" of the subsidiary Italian
company Salini although some sources have indicated that the backlog of Todini
has been empty for some time in Algeria. However,
when rumors of financial scandals raging, it would not be surprising that the
Italian company is involved in shady deals in Algeria. As a
reminder, Todini is a company very active in the Algerian market. It has worked on several projects for the construction of public
infrastructure.Recently,
an agreement was signed Algerian-Italian protocol to open the door for companies
of both countries to negotiate partnership agreements in order to create a joint
venture that will support a portion of the housing projects planned in the 2010
program -2014 of five years.It
should be noted that the Todini hit in the past, particularly when the Algerian
workers in the record is that when workers Algerians in this Italian company
began the strike to protest against their poor working conditions. In
March 2009, the workers of Todini, which was responsible at the time of
completion of certain sections of motorway through the province of Bouira,
sparked an indefinite strike for the improvement of their social conditions.
It
took the intervention of the Algerian Ministry of Public Works to request Todini
to regularize the situation of these workers.
