Re Salman, the new monarch of Saudi Arabia, conducted Thursday in a major cabinet reshuffle and sacked two son of former King Abdullah announced the official Saudi Press Agency.
"The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques (note: Mecca and Medina), the king Salman bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud, today issued a royal decree in his position as head of intelligence, Prince Bandar bin Khalid bin Abdul Aziz al -Saud, "the agency said.
The announcement comes a week after the accession to the throne of the new king, following the death of his predecessor Abdullah at the age of about 90 years.
Another decree noted Prince Bandar bin Sultan, a nephew of Abdullah, has been relieved of his post of Secretary General of the National Security Council and advisor to the king. Prince Bandar had been for 22 years Saudi ambassador to Washington until 2005.
Two son of former monarch were also rejected: Prince Mishaal, governor of the region of Mecca, and Prince Turki, who ruled the capital Riyadh, according to the decrees televised Saudi.
Another son of Abdullah, Prince Miteb, for its part, has been kept in its place by the Minister responsible for the National Guard, a parallel army of about 200,000 men.
